Bob Ormsby opened Ormsby Real Estate on the shores of Lake Tahoe in 2002 after working at Hooper Real Estate for six years with a true Tahoe real estate legend, his friend and mentor Gordy Hooper. Bob’s wife, Roxie, joined the team in 2006, after a tenure at Chase International Real Estate, where she was the company’s top producer. Together, the duo brings over 30 years of professional experience to their local, family-owned company, Ormsby Real Estate.
As a Tahoe native and lifelong resident, Bob knows the area better than most. In 1963, when Bob was just weeks old, the Ormsby family moved to Tahoe City from the Bay Area. Bob went onto graduate from North Tahoe High School, then from Sierra Nevada College in Incline, Nevada, with a degree in business administration. He traveled the world as a member of the U.S. Ski Team, and he was on the U.S. Olympic Team during the Calgary Games in 1988.
Roxie, who grew up in Stockton and South Lake Tahoe and studied liberal arts at Santa Barbara City College, moved to Tahoe in 1999 to open and own a Farmers Insurance Agency in Incline Village Nevada. Previously, she was the owner of Farmers Insurance Agency in Incline and worked as a top-producing agent at a franchise real estate company in Tahoe City. She also founded and served as the CEO of her own Tahoe-based ski fashion line, called SkiTagit which made fun, celebratory apparel for skiers.
